Dispense
From 1 July Fred IT’s eRx Script Exchange has supplied the national Prescription Delivery Service (PDS). Refer to the National PDS Fact Sheet for Clinicians and Pharmacists for more information.
Once you update to 7.7.1 Minfos will upload and download all electronic prescription data via eRx.
- If you are connected to eRx Script Exchange:
- No action is required
- If your pharmacy is not connected to eRx Script Exchange:
- Register on eRx http://www.erx.com.au/register.
- Contact Minfos Support for further information.
You can now set up a SIG in Minfos to calculate directions with a future date based on the script date plus a defined interval. When adding the new future date SIG use %SD in the Code, and %s in the Name.
Example:
Refer to Create a new SIG for more information.
To use the SIG once set up, from the Dispense Form, in the Directions field enter %SD (or %sd) and a number to calculate the date. For example, entering %sd90 would populate as Script Expires after xx/xx/xx, where xx/xx/xx is the script date + 90 days.
Note: You can use the SIG %SD to build other SIGS.
You can now configure Minfos to display the following information in the Directions field to print on the dispense label:
- Script expiry date
- Repeat interval date
- Safety Net consequences date
Each option can be configured individually and will automatically populate in the Directions field after selecting the Drug. The new date information is highlighted by default, press [Home] to retain the information and go to the start of the Directions field to enter the script directions. If you do not want the information to display for the script you are dispensing, you can press [Delete] or [Backspace] to remove it from the Directions field.
Note: Interval Date will update in the Directions when an interval has been entered on the Dispense Form.
To learn how to set up the automatic date feature, refer to Configure Minfos to automatically print date information on the dispense label.
Minfos will now display the following Same Day Dispensing error prompt if you attempt to dispense the same drug, to the same patient, on the same day from an NRMC. Click OK to close the prompt and enter the correct Chart Date on the Dispense Form.
There is new icon on the Dispense Form that allows the dispenser to enter a stop date for an item on an NRMC. The stop date can be used if the item has been stopped prior to the end date of the chart e.g. for a short term antibiotic or if the therapy is ceased. This prompt will help prevent an inadvertent supply of an item from the NRMC past the stop date as indicated by the prescriber.
- indicates no Stop Date has been entered
- indicates a Stop Date has been entered
To enter a stop date for an NRMC:
From the Dispense Form with a RACF patient selected and the Chart Date entered the Stop Date icon is displayed.
1. Click the icon.
The Enter Stop Date window is displayed.
2. Enter the required Stop Date and click OK.
The Stop Date icon is updated .
To view or edit the Stop Date:
From the Dispense Form with a RACF patient selected and the Chart Date entered the Stop Date icon is displayed.
1. Click the icon.
The Enter Stop Date window is displayed.
2. Either update the Stop Date and click OK or if the date is correct click OK or Cancel to close.
Refer to Manage a National Residential Medication Chart Stop Date and Dispense from a National Residential Medication Chart for more information.

Now when you dispense a script from the Quick Dispense Queue, if the dispensing cannot be completed the script will be retained in the queue. Next time you dispense via Quick Dispense this script will be recalled first.
If this script does not need to be dispensed, then to remove it from the queue:
1. Click the icon to open the Quick Dispense Queue.
The Quick Dispense Queue is displayed.
2. To remove a single script from the Quick Dispense Queue:
