Date based SIGS can be set up in Minfos from the Dispense Pro module, refer to Create a new SIG to learn how to add a SIG into your database.
There are three different date based SIG's you can set up in Minfos:
Code date SIG
The Code must be set as /D# (where # equals the number of days e.g. /D28). This type of SIG is most commonly used to advise the patient to Discard After XX/XX/XX(date).
- Enter the required Code e.g. /D28
- Enter the Name, to get the date to calculate you must use %s in the SIG Name
To use this SIG once set up, from the Dispense Form, in the Directions field enter /d28 this will populate as DISCARD AFTER xx/xx/xx, where xx/xx/xx is 28 days from the dispensed date.
Name date SIG
Any Code can be used for this type of SIG. This type of SIG is most commonly used to advise the patient when their next repeat is available.
- Enter a Code e.g. NR14
- Enter the Name, to get the date to calculate you must include %d# (where # equals the number of days e.g. %d14)
To use this SIG once set up, from the Dispense Form, in the Directions field enter nr14 this will populate as Next repeat available after xx/xx/xx, where xx/xx/xx is 14 days from the dispensed date.
Future date SIG, based on Script Date
The Code must be set as %SD. This SIG is most commonly used to advise the patient the script expires after # days (where # equals the number of days).
- Enter %SD as the Code
- Enter the Name, to get the date to calculate you must use %s in the SIG Name
To use this SIG once set up, from the Dispense Form, in the Directions field enter %sd and a number to calculate the date. For example, entering %sd90 in the Directions field would populate as Script Expires after xx/xx/xx, where xx/xx/xx is the script date + 90 days.
