You can print a QR code containing customer details directly from the Script Options window to your dispense label printer. This enables the secure sharing of customer information with supported third-party systems, such as Med-ID Pharmaself24 vending machines.
Note
- The Customer QR Code label prints in a Fred label format by default. Amfac and Lockie templates are also available. Refer to the Select Active Template for Customer QR Code Label below.
- All templates can be customised if required. Refer to Customise your Customer QR Code label below.
Print a Customer QR code
1. From the Script Options menu select ]. Customer QR Code.The Customer QR code is printed by the dispense label printer.
Note The customer's first name, surname and mobile phone number are also printed to allow for verification.
Select Active Template for Customer QR Code Label
Depending on the format of your dispense labels, you will need to choose one of the label formats from the list and set it to Active. This is the format in which your Customer QR Code labels will be printed.
Note Only one Totals Label can be active at a time - indicated by the green A icon next to your selection. The Customer QR Code Label (Fred) label is set to Active by default.
From Dispense Pro:
1. Click the Maintenance menu and select Z. Dispense Templates.
The Dispense Template Editor window is displayed.
2. Highlight the required label and click Set Active.
3. Navigate to the Script Options window and print a Customer QR Code label as a test.
4. After testing the printing of the default custom label, if you need to make adjustments to the label, refer to the next section of this article.
Customise your Customer QR Code label
Before you customise your label, you must first make a copy of the Minfos label.
1. Highlight the correct Customer QR Code Label in the Dispense Template Editor window.
2. Click Save a Copy.
The Save a Copy window is displayed.
3. Give your custom label a memorable name, e.g. ‘Custom Customer QR Code Label (Fred)’.4. Click Save Copy.
Your new template is now saved in the Dispense Template Editor window.
5. Highlight your new Customer QR Code Label and click Edit.
The Label Editor is displayed.6. To make a change to one of the attributes, e.g. to increase the font size for the Customer Name, double click the field on the template.
The Paragraph Properties window is displayed.
7. Double click the Font field.The Font window is displayed.
8. Here you can make changes to the text. E.g. increasing the size and changing the font.
Note Changing the Font and increasing the text size may increase the space occupied by the text. This may affect other attributes on the label.
9. Click OK to save from the Font window and then again from the Paragraph Properties window.
As a result, the size of the text is increased on the template.10. To decrease or increase the size of a field on the template, highlight the field and drag the anchor points.
In the example below the size of the QR Code field has been reduced.
11. To save your changes, click the File menu and select Save.
12. Close the Label Editor window.
13. To use your customised label template, select the template then click Set Active.
The green A icon is displayed next to your customised label.
14. Click Cancel to exit the Dispense Template Editor window.
